Schedule a farm visit!
You are welcome to experience a day on the farm with us just about any time by prior arrangement.
We will be happy to show you our little farm in a casual informal way so if a friendly chat about alpacas sounds like fun, please do call or email and plan to stop by!
We think our alpacas represent some of the best in a variety of colors ages and heritages
...and many are for sale!

Cameron Mountain Alpacas is located in the historic Virginia Piedmont halfway between the ancestral homes of James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. Our pastures are tucked behind a vineyard just off the Constitution Route, the road frequently travelled by these and other great American thinkers.
A trip to this area should include historic Charlottesville and a tasting at one or more of the dozen or so world-class wineries within an hour's drive of our farm. There are three (!) within ten minutes! And another one -- Sweely Estate Winery -- about 15 minutes away.
Barboursville Vineyard, Winery and Restaurant is closest to Cameron Mountain Alpacas.

We will be happy to recommend a weekend's worth (or longer) of delightful visits to these vineyards, to historic sites, scenic drives and to other quality alpaca breeding operations in the area.

Here are some ideas and resources for planning your trip.

Montpelier Estate, Ancestral home of James Madison
This gorgeous scenic historic estate is just 6 miles north of Cameron Mountain Alpacas on Constitution Highway (route 20).
It hosts the annual Montpelier Wine Festival which is held in early May.
Montpelier is also home of the Fall Fiber Festival of Virginia every October and the annual Montpelier Hunt Races in November (more than 75 years running!).
Beautiful old-growth forest surrounds peaceful, generally uncrowded grounds and home where extensive renovations to the main house have just returned it to the way it was in Madison's time. Other projects on the grounds are still ongoing -- its fascinating!
